Placing the mold into an aluminum pie tin or safety pan will prevent
problems resulting if your mold seal does not hold.
When using Acrylic Molds, make your candle in accordance with
mold instructions. Use a good general candle making wax such as
Walnut Hill CWl 34. Add stearine or crystals to make the candle
harder and longer-burning. Choose a color to match or compliment
your room decor. Be sure to add the color and scent just before you
are ready to pour the candle, so that the color will not be altered
and the scent will not dissipate. Wax should be poured into acrylic
molds at 200°F to 205°F and stirred lightly with a wooden dowel
while touching the sides of the mold to achieve the best finish.
The Candle Critters are made in two-piece Groove Lock plastic
molds. Be sure to follow the mold directions and add the hardeners
and additives as stated above. The wax must be poured no hotter than
180°F or you will destroy the mold. These candles can be detailed
with acrylic paints to achieve an attractive, lively character. |
