1. | | Cut a 12"
diameter circle or 18" x 13" rectangle out of the corrugated
cardboard (depending on your preference for the shape of the place
mats). |

Paint on coat of Polyurethane Satin Finish (water based) to seal on
both sides. |
3. | | Download our
pumpkin, ghost, and leaf patterns and cut out the external shape and
internal features. |
4. | | Using
tracing paper, trace over the features bearing down hard. Turn it
over and take the eraser side and rub over the lines (The pumpkin
image will be reversed.) |
5. | | Fill in with
appropriate colors (orange for pumpkin; white for ghost; greens,
brown, reds, and oranges for the leaf). Paint in a green stem on
leaf and a brown stem on the pumpkin. For bat, paint the eyes blue.
Experiment changing the mouth and eyes into different expressions.

6. | | Let dry 20
minutes. |
7. | | To make
trim: take 12 strings of raffia, make a knot 2"-3" from each end. |
8. | | Pin the
raffia to a sofa and divide into thirds and braid (just like hair)
about thirteen inches long. |
9. | | Take cold
glue gun and glue the braided raffia to the perimeter of your chosen
mat. |
10. | | Using Tac'
n Stik™ Reusable Adhesive place a wrapped candy at each corner. |
