Goo’s Donation to Locks of Love
My daughter (we call her Goo) has always had gorgeous brunette hair, with wonderful red highlights. Her hair is thick, healthy and has great body. She decided 2 years ago, that she wanted to grow it long enough to donate at least 10 inches to Locks of Love.
Locks of Love is a non-profit organization that provides hairpieces to disadvantaged children under age 18 who have suffered hair loss as a result of a medical condition.
Goo coordinated her donation/haircut/new look with my arrival for Parent’s weekend. She spent Friday night and Saturday morning shaking and bouncing her long hair for the last time. We went for the haircut Saturday afternoon, after a BBQ at her Sorority house.
First, they braid the hair, then they cut off at least 10 inches. Her hair donation was about 13 inches long. Her haircutter then shaped and styled her new length into an adorable cut.
She looks more stylish, older and more professional! Not only did she enhance her appearance, but she helped a child in need!
She didn’t tell any of her ’sisters’ or friends what she was doing, so the next morning when we arrived at the house for a brunch, she was the center of attention.
Her friends all love the “New Goo”. I just love Goo!
