Does AT&T waste your minutes intentionally?

If you use voicemail for cell calls, you might have noticed an increase in your minute usage. In the past few months, I saw a huge increase in my AT&T wireless bill.

AT&T sucks
Up until last year, as Cingular was preparing for the move to AT&T, the fascist giant, you could bypass someone’s voice message prompt by hitting the * button. This would take you directly to the recorder, where YOU could choose how long your message would be.

NOW, they have removed the bypass feature.

Not only have they removed that ability, they have added 2 additional levels of prompts to the process. To simply leave a message for my daughter, I first have to listen to her recording in its entirety, THEN I have to listen to the AT&T message instructing me how to leave a message or how to hang up! THEN.. I am sent to the recording device, where I must again listen to an AT&T recording TEACHING me how touse the system. THIS ENTIRE PROCESS USED UP THREE MINUTES OF MY TALK TIME!!!

My point: AT&T arbitrarily removed a feature that saves time, and replaced it with time wasting recordings intentionally to increase your cellular phone usage!
