You're so right. At least you publicly pointing out this fact so that people might stop & think.

I'd love to add a similar post reflecting about various hidden dangers that corporations & manufacturers leave us to be exposed to when we purchase common household items ... but when I registered to post on this blog, there was no option to write - just the dashboard. I'm just hoping to point out some simple, unforeseen hazards.

The child suffered from a condition brought on by the lack of vitamin D in her diet.

One of the only foods vitamin D is found in naturally is fish. Milk is merely 'fortified' with vitamin D, as is most breakfast cereals, dairy products and soy products.

The child could have easily received enough vitamin D to maintain good health without milk products! It seems to me that the child was not fed a balanced diet.

As someone who is NOT a 'vegan', I am not aware of what guidelines a person adheres to in order to maintain a healthy and balanced diet. But, it seems that this child's parents were more fanatical than they were health conscious.

But I still believe dairy is not necessary. As a matter of fact, the more I read, the more I see what a poisonous cocktail it cooks up in a human body.

You can not ignore the package of nutrients in milk and dairy products that is essential to a childs growth and development. It is possible, but very hard to give them all the nutrients they need without dairy products. Check out this article from a recent case where a child ate no dairy... spine of an 80 year old and bone malformations. A child's health is in the hands of his/her parents. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/uknews/2094460/Couple-face-questioning-after-vegan-daughter-suffers-bone-disease.html

[...] No breast cancer in China Obviously this is absurd. It seemed obvious to me that some lifestyle factor not related to pollution, urbanization or the environment is seriously increasing the Western woman’s chance of contracting breast cancer. … [...]
