Beautiful Complexion!?! — at MY age??

Flower PowerAs  person who grew up on the fringes of the “Flower Power” generation, I was never one to wear alot of makeup.  A little eye pencil and a quick blush would suffice.  Now that I am on the dark side of the century, I feel I ’should’ do what grown up women do, and that is wear makeup!

I absolutely abhor that ‘pancake’ look.  I always thought that well applied makeup should not look like makeup at all, just a nice glowing complexion.

Redheads have a particular problem with makeup too.  We tend to have more acidic skin than most, so makeup would disappear within an hour or so.  I either ended up having no makeup on at all, or I would have to reapply it many times in a day!

My past experience with traditional makeup always left me feeling dirty and filmy.   When I heard about the new mineral makeup kits that are on the market, I was interested.  I started off with a great deal on a starter kit from Simply Karen.  (75% off)

The makeup is pure natural minerals, and looks totally natural.  There are no oils, perfumes, dyes or talc.  When using it, my skin appears even and glows with a natural blush.  And on top of it, the makeup lasts ALL DAY LONG!

A few weeks after using it, my family dined in a local restaurant which was shooting a commercial using the diners and their testimonials.  When the cameraman approached us, he looked at me through his camera lens, and said, “oh, you have a gorgeous complexion, we want to use you!”

I have to think part of it is that I have good skin to begin with, but to be told I have a gorgeous complexion at 50+ is something else!
