- Using a ½" flat brush, paint stripes on each jar, one
color at a time. Let each color dry before adding the next
color. One jar is painted with blue and white stripes, another
with red and white stripes, and the third with blue, red, and
white stripes.
- To make jars look old, antique with a mixture of equal
amounts of glass paint and varnish and dark brown acrylic
enamel glass paint.
- Using an old toothbrush, spatter the jars with the
antiquing mixture.
Lid Decoration
Prime the metal bands, then paint with an "instant rust" paint
kit.
Embellishments
Wrap 20" of 20 gauge black wire around the neck of each jar.
Attach three rusty metal stars (cut from sheet metal and painted
with the same paint you used to paint the bands) to the ends of
the wire.
